WHAT IS FLORIDA STYLE BBQ?

With so many things that are uniquely Florida, as a chef I've always wondered something. Why don't we have our own style of BBQ? How is it that a place that has the perfect weather for barbecuing year-round doesn’t have its own style of barbecue?

As a proud Floridian chef, I've always wanted to change that. So when I graduated from the Florida Culinary Institute in 2004 I started working on developing, a Florida style bbq sauce. A sauce that reflects the unique characteristics of Florida and just like Florida it's got a little bit of everything in it with a lot of Caribbean influence, our incomparably sweet Organic Florida sugar cane, St. Augustine sweet onions and our uniquely spicy palette exploding state chili pepper known simply as The Datil. Each 16oz glass jar of sauce I make from scratch by hand in small batches with our award-winning extra-virgin olive oil.

So whether you've lived in Florida your whole life, you just moved here last week, or you just want to share a little bit of Florida with your friends and family up north, this sweet, spicy, and smokey bbq rich velvety sauce will soon become your go-to for BBQ.
